Project scope

To design and install a brand new kitchen for an experienced cook and food lover. Bloq was referred by a trusted neighbour.

Original Space

The original kitchen was large but showing signs of wear and tear after nearly 30 years of service. Tiles on the floor didn’t suit the needs of client as she found them too hard for her legs/feet throughout the day. The kitchen also had a drinks bar and large storage cabinet.

Designer Notes

In order to create the open and functional space the bar and storage cabinet were removed. A steel column in the middle of the kitchen supported the roof but its removal would have been difficult. A thin bench material was selected to provide appeal, interest and lightness. Classical colour selections were chosen to fit the homes art deco theme.

Result

A bright, functional and large kitchen with dining area overlooking a rear vegetable garden. Vinyl flooring was easier on feet and for cleaning. The customer loves her new space. She really enjoys meals with friends and family overlooking the rear garden.
